When should I begin dress shopping?

We recommend you start looking for a wedding dress 6 to 9 months before your wedding date and purchase a gown 3 to 6 months in advance. Because we hand craft each of our gowns in our own atelier here in the heart of Amsterdam, we able to work with much shorter deadlines than many other bridal stores.
If necessary, we can make most gowns within 3 months as a special order. So, don’t worry if you’re a last minute shopper!
We do however have rush fees in such circumstances.

 

What does it mean to create a custom wedding gown?

Creating a custom wedding gown with us can actually mean two different things.

It is possible to create a couture gown, together with Edwin, beginning from a sketch, making a toile and then moving on to making the real dress. This process is described more completely on our bridal couture page.

It is also possible to combine various elements from different gowns from our Made to Order collections. You can take the skirt from one, the top from another, and the sleeves from a third. We then combine these elements to make on cohesive wedding dress, completelty unique for you.

 

Where is the boutique located?

Our flagship boutique and design studio is located on one of the most beautiful canals in the city of Leiden, the Netherlands. The boutique can easily be reached by bus, foot or bike from Leiden Central station and is perfectly situated for acces to Motorways taking you to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and thge rest of the Netherlands.

 

Do I need to book an appointment?

Yes, we only work with appointments. This way we can give you the personal attention you deserve while finding your perfect dress. . If you are in need of some inspiration before your appointment with us you can check out our made to order collections and our real brides.

What can I expect at my appointment?

A first fitting appointment is about 2 hours. You will have our entire boutique for you and your party. Together with Edwin, you can discuss the specific details of your wedding and look through our gowns. Once we have a good idea of the look and feel you are interested in, you can try on a selection of gowns. We will of course offer our opinion and expert recommendations. In some cases an unexpected gown can end up being the perfect choice! If you fall in love with one of our gowns, we will take your measurements and raise a glass to celebrate!

 

What should I bring to my appointment?

For the best experience, we recommend you wear some kind of nude colour, seamless underwear as this is best to wear underneath your gown. We ask you to keep your make-up as minimal as possible, to help keep our gowns clean and free of make-up or lipstick marks. Something more to keep in mind….when determining the length of your gown during a fitting appointment it is necessary to know which shoes you will be wearing or what height they will approximately be. So if you already have your shoes, please bring them with you.

Who should I bring to my appointment?

Bring the people that know you best and who will offer advice without pushing their opinions on you. We recommend that you do not bring more than 3 people with you as too many voices can make it harder to have a clear vision for your gown. Also, due to the intimate nature of our boutique, a smaller group generally feels more comfortable.

 

What is the price range of the dresses?

Our made to order gowns range from €1.165 and up, with the majority of them between €3.000 & €4.500 .
If you take a look at our Made to Order collection pages, you will see that all prices are clearly listed there. These prices are the total price, including all alterations and fittings.

What method of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by debit card, credit card and bank transfer. When you have chosen your gown, you pay a deposit of 50%, we can then begin to make your dress. You cover the last payment of 50% before you come to pick up your dress or during collection. If you purchase one of our sample gowns, payment will be required at the time of purchase, in full.

 

What sizes are your sample gowns?

Our samples gowns are between a size 36 / 38 (UK size 10 / 12) but don’t worry if you don’t think this is the right size for you. We have a great deal of experience with pinning these gowns to be able to show you how it will look in your size.

Can I cancel my order after I purchased a dress?

All our gowns are made to order and are made for you by hand in our atelier. When you have made your first payment we will immediately begin the process of making your dress. Each dress is made to order, specifically for each bride. This means you cannot cancel your order.

 

You found your dream dress, but what’s next?

First of all, congratulations! You are going to look stunning in your gown!
Once we have taken your measurements, we will begin to create your dress in the correct size according to your measurements. This process normally takes anywhere from 3 months to complete, so you have plenty of time to look for accessories and shoes. During your first appointment, we will have booked in your next fitting. At this fitting in your dress, we will look for a perfect fit and make any small adjustments to your gown and will amrk the place for the zippr. We will also mark the length of the dress, so it is very important that you have your shoes for this appointment.

Alterations are included in the price of your dress, however, if you lose of gain a lot of weight, where we will have to adjust the fit of the dress by more then a coupke of centimeters of one size or more, we will have to add the cost of the extra alterations.
We then invite you for your last fitting and collection. The dress should fit perfectly at this time and you can take it home straight away.
